Support this show!

This entry is going to be quite simple and straight to the point...watch "An African City!"  As indicated by the show's Facebook page, the show is about five beautiful, successful African females who return to their home continent; the show is set in Ghana but the ladies are from various African countries.  The ladies share the triumphs and difficulties of the transition in a way that is fun, witty, and helps to answer all the questions that many of us ask ourselves every time we wonder how it would be to pack up and return to the continent. I laughed, found myself intrigued, and simply enjoyed the story lines, not to mention the fashion and the way they are showcasing some of Accra’s hottest spots!  Oya go and watch!

Thanksgiving Dey Around the Corner--Wetin Dey Your Table Top?

Oya Africans come and report yourself regarding what will be on your Thanksgiving table.  Just imagine, you people have come here, they said there is something called Thanksgiving and that we should eat turkey and mashed potatoes and apple pie but oh no, not my pipu.  We need jollof, kenkey, kelewele, omo tuo, fufu, gari foto, stew, shito, chin-chin, and all our other African accouterments (I know this word is not for food but I go fi use am anyway) before we know we are celebrating Thanksgiving.

To top it off, they said season the turkey with just a little salt and pepper but oh no, my pipu must grind ginger, onions, pepper, and all our seasonings otherwise "e be ye nyan (it will have a raw taste)!"  LOL

Who am I kidding, I just listed my Thanksgiving menu and seasonings...lol

Oya, report your Thanksgiving menu!

Using Twittter to Bring Peace to a Kenyan Village

Eish my pipu,

Looks like somepeople are not just using Twitter for gisting...Chief Francis Kariuki (@Chiefkariuki), a Kenyan chief is using the social media outlet to foil robberies, prevent latrine drownings, recover stolen livestock, and much more!
Chief you force waaaa...great job and great example!

So what about Twitter use throughout Africa?

According to an article in the Guardian, Kenya has one of the highest levels of use on the African continent, so the Chief has made a great choice indeed.  There is also a really great map that illustrates Twitter use across the continent (to the left). Check it out!

As for my Ghana peeps, UP YOUR GAME!  Haba!  We are barely a blip on the African TwitterVerse.  Oya, add Tweeting to your texting and Facebooking.

Okay ohhhh, I am going to go Tweet about this post.

New terms--VIM SWAGG

In fact, I have come up with a new term-- #vimswagg

I was talking to my girl @AIDgirl and we were talking about the level of vim we all applied to the Atlantic Lobster issue and then it came to me...we applied much vim so we are on our #vimswagg

So Vim Swagg means you are on you are on your grind and you handle your business with much vim!  So handle your schoolwork, job, business, etc. with #vimswagg

BTW, vim mean force...so if you apply vim to something it means you apply energy and force to something!

Use it but oya give me credit!!!
